“I feel that the sentiment drawn from fiction is no less authentic, pungent and lasting than what the best in reporting is capable of documenting.” - Pedro Letria

The Club is an experiential journey through the Portuguese Social Clubs in the Providence, Rhode Island; a journey in which photography and writing are the primary actions. Along its course, Pedro Letria looks at his own displacement as a Portuguese national in the United States through the plural manifestations of Portuguese immigrants in their spaces of communal togetherness.

Pedro Letria was born in Lisboa, Portugal, in 1965. A photographer and graduate from the Rhode Island School of Design, Pedro Letria has authored 6 books resulting from personal long term projects. His work has been widely exhibited in and outside Portugal.
