Laura Sperl works at the intersection of photography, performance, dance and drawing. She uses photochemical processes that interweave photography, skin, landscape, light and drawing. In the framework of the XYZ Book Residency Program she started to expand her work with photograms to the experimentation with chemigrams with sea water, sand on photographic paper, exposed to sunlight. The evolution of the images over time is captured through digital photography and results in a cinematic experience in the book. In her work she keeps exploring processes of change, uncontrollable influences and human action in this field of uncertainty and the unknown.
