Joe Wood is a British documentary photographer and photojournalist. During the residency he processed a long term project into a photo book dummy.

Middle Ground is a cinematic record of daily life in Lithuania, during its social and cultural metamorphosis from what was, to what will be. Shot in panoramic format, the unique book design plays with the idea of theatre and spectacle, keeping the viewer guessing what comes next and what direction we are moving in. The work documents some of the changes in Lithuania since 2013, while exploring grassroots and top down manifestations of power, which attempt to consolidate, question or change opinion. In this way the title and construction are both a geographic reference to place as well as to an idea that is antidote to the increasing polarity we see in global societies today.
